Heart failure
Heart failure is an ongoing condition that occurs when the heart muscle has become too weak to pump blood through the body effectively. This can cause fluid to collect in the lungs and other body tissues. Heart failure has many causes, including heart disease, a previous heart attack, high blood pressure or a faulty heart valve.
